How do I apply for Social Security benefits? 

General information about Social Security issues can be found on the Social Security Administration’s website. The Social Security Administration website also has information on preparing for your retirement and estimating your future retirement benefits.

You can apply for Social Security retirement and disability benefits online. You can also receive an application and assistance by contacting your local Social Security office.  Your local office can be found using the Social Security Office Locator.
