H.R. 3962 - Affordable Health Care for America Act

Thursday, October 29, 2009

Reforming our broken health care system is critical to the future of Nevada’s families and our economy.  With nearly a quarter of 18-to 64-year olds in Nevada going without health care coverage and rising premiums squeezing those who have health insurance, it is clear that the status quo is unacceptable.  As we discuss health insurance reform, there are strong feelings on both sides of the issue, and it is important that we have an open discussion.  To help you learn more about the proposed legislation in Congress, below is a link to the new bill that was recently introduced in the House of Representatives.

The American Nurses Association supports H.R. 3962:

Dear Representative Titus:

On behalf of the American Nurses Association (ANA), the only full-service professional organization representing the interests of the nation's 2.9 million Registered Nurses, I am writing to extend our gratitude and appreciation for your support of H.R. 3962, the Affordable Health Care for America Act.  The need for fundamental reform of the U.S. health care system is critical and your support and dedication to improving America's healthcare system is to be commended.  The historic vote on the Affordable Health Care for America Act clearly represents a movement toward much-needed, comprehensive and meaningful reform for our nation's healthcare system. America's nurses understand that this reform cannot wait; it must be done today.

Once again, thank you on behalf of America's 2.9 million Registered Nurses.  ANA and nurses around the country will continue to work to make health care reform a reality this year.

Sincerely,
Rebecca M. Patton MSN, RN, CNOR
