Titus Statement on House Resolution on Israel

Washington, D.C. – Congresswoman Dina Titus of Nevada’s Third District released the following statement today in support of H.Res. 34, which recognizes Israel’s right to defend itself against attacks from Gaza, reaffirms the United States’ strong support for Israel, and supports the Israeli-Palestinian peace process. The resolution passed by a vote of 390 to 5.
“Today the House of Representatives reaffirmed the commitment and support of our nation for our friend and ally Israel. Israel has a right and responsibility to defend its people and ensure their security.
“The United States must continue to be a strong partner to Israel and I encourage the Bush Administration to work in support of a sustainable cease-fire that will enhance the security of Israel and protect the lives of innocent civilians.”
