Washington, D.C. - Today, Congresswoman Dina Titus of Nevada’s First District announced that the Department of the Interior has approved a major clean energy project in Southern Nevada. The Searchlight Wind Energy Project will be built approximately 60 miles southeast of Las Vegas on Bureau of Land Management lands in Clark County. Once completed, the 83 wind turbines will generate approximately 200 megawatts of clean, renewable energy, enough to power approximately 70,000 homes. The project will create 275 construction jobs and up to 15 permanent jobs, while contributing $18.6 million in tax revenue.
