Washington, D.C. - Congresswoman Dina Titus of Nevada’s First District released the following statement today on the FY2013 Continuing Resolution and Defense and Military Construction/VA Appropriations bills:

“Today, I voted to pass the Continuing Resolution to avoid an unacceptable government shutdown at the end of March,” Congresswoman Titus said. “This legislation supports our national security by increasing pay for members of our Armed Services while also providing additional funding to the Department of Veterans Affairs so it can continue to provide the best care possible for our nation’s heroes when they come home.

“But we must also address the 10 Appropriations bills the Republicans chose not to update for inclusion in the Continuing Resolution. We need to pass a fair and balanced budget that encompasses all of our funding priorities and makes real investments in our nation’s long-term economic stability. I am hopeful that the U.S. Senate will make important changes to this legislation and quickly return it to the House.”
