Washington, D.C. - Congresswoman Dina Titus of Nevada’s First District released the following statement today after she voted in support of H.R. 1765, the Reducing Flight Delays Act. The House approved the measure on a 361-41 vote; one day after the Senate passed the bill. The measure will end the furloughs of air traffic controllers that have delayed hundreds of flights daily.

“The thousands of flight delays and hundreds of cancelations over the last week were just a snapshot of the impacts that this misguided Sequester is having on our economy. This legislation is essential to the tens of millions of visitors who fly to Las Vegas every year. Unfortunately, millions more will still feel the negative effects from this irresponsible policy. Tens of thousands of children don’t have access to Head Start programs and hundreds of thousands of expecting mothers and children are losing vital food assistance. It is time for House Republicans to come to the table and achieve a balanced approach to end this senseless policy.”
