In response to the Las Vegas metropolitan area being disqualified from a federal pedestrian safety grant program, Congresswoman Dina Titus sent a letter to Victor Mendez, Administrator of the Department of Transportation Federal Highway Administration, and David Strickland, Administrator of the Department of Transportation National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, encouraging the agencies to improve the decision-making metrics used to award funds and expand consideration to metropolitan areas with high rates of pedestrian deaths.
