September 15, 2014 Today Congresswoman Dina Titus announced passage of H.R. 5025, the Northern Nevada Land Conservation and Economic Development Act. The bipartisan legislation introduced by Nevada Congressman Mark Amodei includes a number of important provisions to protect sensitive lands as part of the National Wilderness Preservation System, as well as authorize economic development opportunities on lands across Northern Nevada. “I am proud to join with my colleague, Congressman Amodei, as an original sponsor of this legislation. The Nevada Delegation has a long history of working together to advance legislation to preserve our sensitive lands while providing vital economic development opportunities throughout the state. This legislation continues that tradition for the benefit of all Nevadans. In turn, I look forward to continuing to work with Congressman Amodei and the entire Delegation to advance additional public lands bills in Southern Nevada, including the Las Vegas Valley Public Land and Tule Springs Fossil Beds National Monument Act.” |
