Congresswoman Dina Titus of Nevada’s First District released the following statement today on the House Energy and Commerce Committee hearing on nuclear waste:

“What’s clear from this morning’s Energy & Commerce hearing is that political theatre gets us no closer to a sensible alternative to manage the nation’s nuclear waste,” said Congresswoman Dina Titus. “Yucca Mountain was, is, and will continue to be an unworkable boondoggle. The President was correct in ending this farce. The limited, remaining resources would be better off spent on developing an alternative path forward for the disposal of the nation’s nuclear waste.”
