Today Congresswoman Dina Titus of Nevada’s First District sent a letter to Mr. Richard Griffin, Acting Inspector General - United States Department of Veterans Affairs Office of Inspector General, to request that he include Nevada's VA facilities in the ongoing investigation of patient wait times throughout the Veterans Health Administration.
The full text of the letter can be found here:
Dear Mr. Griffin,
As a member of the House Veterans Affairs Committee, I am carefully monitoring the ongoing investigation of the Phoenix Veterans Health Care Center and your investigation of patient wait times throughout the Veterans Health Administration. In your interim report, you note that your office is currently investigating 42 VA facilities to determine if similar scheduling mismanagement has occurred. I understand that you are not making the list of facilities currently under investigation public in order to preserve evidence and protect whistleblowers.
Nonetheless, I write to respectfully request that you notify me as soon as possible if you are investigating any facilities in Nevada and provide my office the results of any such investigations, including suggested recommendations for remediation. If you are not investigating any facilities in Nevada, I respectfully request that you do so to ensure that the proper scheduling procedures are in place and that Nevada veterans are getting the care they deserve in a timely fashion.
Sincerely,
Dina Titus
Member of Congress
