Rep. Dina Titus Statement on Colorado River Proposed Revisions

Las Vegas, NV – Today Congresswoman Dina Titus (NV-01), a member of the bipartisan Colorado River Caucus, issued the following statement after the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation released their draft Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement (SEIS) for potentially revising the interim operating guidelines for water usage among Colorado River Basin states:

“The Colorado River Basin’s rapidly changing conditions have highlighted the need to update how water users in the region consume this valuable natural resource. That need compels all seven Basin states to meet the realities of the West’s ongoing drought, a process that may well involve difficult decisions.

“In Congress, I voted for both the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law and the Inflation Reduction Act because they provided our region with the resources and incentives to meet this challenge head-on. We need to work together across all levels of government to protect the sustainability of the Colorado River System, and I look forward to continuing to advocate for all Southern Nevadans as we share this precious water supply.”
