House Passes Titus Legislation to Protect Seniors from Increase in Medicare Part B Premiums"The Medicare Premium Fairness Act before you today will eliminate this inequity and protect all Medicare enrollees so that no senior will see his or her premium increase or experience a Social Security check decrease. Because this bill is fully paid for by using existing funds including the Medicare Improvement Fund and it meets the PAYGO requirements, it is a responsible way to stand up and provide for our seniors during these tough economic times."
Titus Protects Seniors’ and Military Families’ Access to Doctors“With this critical fix to the Medicare payment system, we will ensure that seniors and veterans will be able to continue to see the doctor whom they trust. This legislation in conjunction with the health care reform bill that passed the House will strengthen Medicare and protect benefits for our seniors.”
Titus Amendment to the Fire Grants Reauthorization ActCongresswoman Dina Titus offerend an amendment today to the Fire Grants Reathorization Act which allows fire departments to apply for grants to purchase equipment that reduces water usage.
Titus Amendment Provides Grants for Fire Departments that Use Water Efficiently"This important expansion will provide fire departments the opportunity to purchase pieces of equipment that are not only effective in fighting fires, but also are efficient in water usage. By allowing and encouraging these purchases, we are helping fire departments not only fight fires in a safer way, but also in a way that uses less water. Preserving this valuable resource, without diminishing firefighting safety and capability, makes purchases by our local governments doubly beneficial."
