Congresswoman Dina Titus of Nevada’s First District released the following statement today on the 12th anniversary of the September 11th terrorist attacks. September 11, 2013 Congresswoman Dina Titus of Nevada’s First District released the following statement today on the 12th anniversary of the September 11th terrorist attacks: “On September 11th, 2001, our nation and our way of life were attacked and changed forever. Today we take time to remember the 3,000 lives lost in New York, Washington, and Pennsylvania and reflect on the heroism that emerged on that day - from the first responders to the airline passengers and ordinary citizens who bravely risked their lives to help those in need. “In the aftermath of that tragic day, Americans joined together, standing up to volunteer in service to their communities and country in an effort not only to rebuild the physical damage from the attacks, but to reinvigorate the American spirit. On the twelfth anniversary of those attacks, we renew that spirit of service once again by recognizing September 11 as the National Day of Service and Remembrance. “We must also take time to thank the brave men and women who have risked – and continue to risk - their lives to defend our country and protect the principles we hold so dear. My thoughts and prayers today are with the families of those who were lost on September 11th as well as with all the service members and first responders who continue to protect our country and our freedom at home and around the world.”
