Today Congresswoman Dina Titus, a member of the Water Resources Subcommittee of the House Transportation & Infrastructure Committee, released the following statement after voting in favor of H.R. 3080; the Water Resources Reform and Development Act (WRRDA):
“Today we came together in a bipartisan fashion to support legislation that is essential to our nation’s economy. Although we have few waterways in District One, this legislation has a number of important policies and investments that are critical to our ability to move goods through the nation’s waterways and ports. As a member of the Water Resources Subcommittee, I advocated to include funding for a critical flood-protection project along the Truckee River in Northern Nevada. In addition, the legislation reauthorizes the Clean Water State Revolving Fund, which provides resources to states for sewer and wastewater infrastructure projects. These are important reforms for communities that are struggling to maintain outdated water and wastewater systems, especially in areas like rural Nevada. I am proud of this product and look forward to swift passage by the Senate and the President’s signature.”
