LVRJ: Titus selected as ranking Democrat on House subcommittee

A Nevada Democratic lawmaker was elevated Wednesday to a leadership position on a House panel that has oversight of the General Services Administration and the Smithsonian Institution, which operates museums where artifacts from the Silver State are stored and displayed.

Rep. Dina Titus, who represents Las Vegas, was selected by Democrats as the ranking member on the Transportation and Infrastructure subcommittee on economic development, public buildings and emergency management.

Democrats on the subcommittee unanimously selected Titus as the ranking member after Rep. Hank Johnson, D-Ga., moved to another congressional committee assignment.

Rep. Lou Barletta, R-Pa., is chairman of the subcommittee.
