Rep. Titus Announces $195 Million Grant for McCarran International Airport

Today Representative Dina Titus of Nevada’s First Congressional District, a senior member of the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, released the following statement announcing that McCarran International Airport will receive $195,485,334 as a result of the passage of the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act. April 14, 2020 Las Vegas, NV – Today Representative Dina Titus of Nevada’s First Congressional District, a senior member of the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, released the following statement announcing that McCarran International Airport will receive $195,485,334 as a result of the passage of the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act: “Getting our airport back at full capacity will be vital to boosting Southern Nevada’s tourism economy,” said Congresswoman Titus (NV-1). “I’m proud to announce that McCarran International Airport will receive over $195 million from the CARES Act that we passed. Las Vegas will be ready to welcome visitors when we can do so safely.” The funding will help cover lost revenue during the pandemic and assist in the preparation for a return to normal operations when it is safe to do so. McCarran International Airport is one of the nation’s top 10 busiest airports, but it is facing significant declines in travelers as a result of the coronavirus pandemic. |
