December 12, 2014 Today Congresswoman Dina Titus of Nevada’s First Congressional District released the following statement on Senate passage of a package of long-standing public lands bills, including the Las Vegas Valley Public Land and Tule Springs Fossil Beds National Monument Act: “This was a mammoth lift, but with the hard work of the Nevada Delegation, the Las Vegas Metro Chamber, Clark County, the cities of Las Vegas and North Las Vegas, and all the institutions, organizations, and area supporters, we finally moved this bill over the finish line. Tule Springs tells the story of this region dating back thousands of years, and as a unit of the National Park Service, will attract even more visitors to Nevada. The legislation includes provisions preserving important lands across the state protecting our natural history for generations while promoting vital economic development opportunities in Nevada.” |
