Today Congresswoman Dina Titus of Nevada’s First Congressional District released the following statement announcing House passage of a package of long-standing public lands bills, including the Las Vegas Valley Public Land and Tule Springs Fossil Beds National Monument Act:

“This designation is 11,000 years in the making. Tule Springs tells the story of this region dating back thousands of years, and as a unit of the National Park Service, will attract even more visitors to Nevada. The legislation will preserve our natural history for generations while promoting vital economic development opportunities for Southern Nevada. I am proud to have worked with the Nevada Congressional Delegation, the Las Vegas Metro Chamber, Clark County, the cities of Las Vegas and North Las Vegas, and all the institutions, organizations, and area supporters to finally move this bill over the finish line.”
