The "Foreclosure King" helped wreak havoc in Nevada during the Great Recession and is not fit to serve as Treasury Secretary. February 13, 2017 Today Rep. Dina Titus of Nevada’s First Congressional District issued the following statement on Steve Mnuchin, President Donald Trump’s nominee for Treasury Secretary who is scheduled to receive a Senate confirmation vote later this evening. “Throughout my time in Congress, I have fought to help homeowners in Nevada avoid foreclosure and stay in their homes. During the height of the financial crisis, as head of One West Bank, Mr. Mnuchin profited from families who were losing their homes. His company relentlessly pursued foreclosing on Nevada’s families, earning Mnuchin the moniker of ‘Foreclosure King.’ While Nevada continues to recover from the Great Recession, Mr. Mnuchin should not be anywhere near the Department of Treasury.” |
