Titus Statement on Scott Pruitt

February 17, 2017
President Trump's pick to run the EPA is not fit to run the agency he's tried to destroy.

Today Rep. Dina Titus of Nevada’s First Congressional District released the following statement on the upcoming vote in the U.S. Senate today to confirm Oklahoma Attorney General Scott Pruitt to lead the Environmental Protection Agency.

“Nevada has worked vigorously to cut emissions and diversify its power supply. We are incentivizing renewables at the state and federal level and will soon have no coal-fired power plants providing electricity to our grid. Scott Pruitt threatens all of our hard work. By filing 14 lawsuits against the EPA during his time as Oklahoma Attorney General, it’s clear he has no regard for families who want clean air and water for their children. Instead of protecting the environment, he will protect big polluters. Pruitt’s record makes it clear that he won’t represent the best interest of Nevada.”
