Congresswoman Dina Titus of Nevada’s First District released the following statement on President Obama’s FY2016 budget proposal. February 2, 2015 Congresswoman Dina Titus of Nevada’s First District released the following statement on President Obama’s FY2016 budget proposal: “The federal budget is more than a theoretical document debated in Washington, it is a statement of our national priorities. President Obama has put forward a budget to grow our economy, strengthen the middle class, and empower future generations by making strategic investments in infrastructure and education, and by reforming the tax-code to better support working families. The budget accomplishes these goals in a fiscally responsible way that will reduce the deficit by $1.8 trillion, end sequestration, close special interest tax loopholes, and invest in comprehensive immigration reform. “Building on the progress we’ve made, this budget proposal helps ensure that hard working Nevadans share in the benefits of our economic growth while also making our country more competitive in the 21st century global marketplace. I applaud the President for offering an agenda that truly reflects our shared values. I hope my Democratic and Republican colleagues will be able to work together to pass this budget and provide greater economic mobility and security for all Americans.” |
