Today Congresswoman Dina Titus announced that the Department of Homeland Security will award a $425,000 Countering Violent Extremism (CVE) grant to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department to bolster local initiatives to ensure the safety of the community. Metro is one of 31 local governments, universities, and non-profit organizations across the country that will participate in the grant program. The 114th Congress appropriated the funding for the program.

“This grant will provide Metro with critical resources to keep bad actors from recruiting, planning, and engaging in acts of extremism in our community. Prevention programs like these help our nation identify and address radicalization in our nation.”
