Titus Statement on Senate Cr Vote

January 18, 2018
It is time we protect DREAMers.

January 18, 2018

Today Rep. Dina Titus of Nevada’s First Congressional District released the following statement on the Senate’s vote on the House-passed Continuing Resolution that fails to protect DREAMers.

“As President Obama said, ‘Elections do have consequences.’ Currently, Republicans control the House, the Senate, the White House, and the Supreme Court. They have chosen to ignore Democrats, policy experts, and public opinion this year and focus instead on gutting the ACA, rolling back environmental and consumer protections, and passing a tax break for billionaires.

"Now because of their inability to govern, Republican leadership has let both chambers be held hostage by the President. Instead of focusing on funding government, they have let an inexperienced, inadequate, and incompetent president make a circus of our government.

"I want to keep government open. I want to ensure that our military, veterans, and working families can access the services they need. I want to protect DREAMers and let them live without fear in the country they call home.

"These priorities have bipartisan support. It is time Republicans stop riding the Trump Train and bring them to the floor for a vote.”
