Las Vegas—Today Rep. Dina Titus of Nevada’s First Congressional District released the following statement on President Donald Trump’s executive order to prevent immigrant friendly communities like Las Vegas from receiving federal grant money. 

“Like most of Trump's rhetoric, today's threat to cut funding to sanctuary cities is vague and ill advised,” Rep. Titus said. “Despite having worked closely with federal authorities to remove undocumented felons and potentially dangerous individuals, Las Vegas law enforcement could lose millions of dollars under this new policy. This would increase the burden on Metro and make our community a more dangerous place for everyone.”
