Today Congresswoman Dina Titus of Nevada’s First Congressional District released the following statement on President Barack Obama's announcement that the Federal Housing Administration will reduce annual mortgage insurance premiums by 0.5 percent in an effort to make mortgages more affordable and accessible for families. The action is supported by the National Association of Realtors.

“Nowhere was the impact of the housing crisis felt more than in Southern Nevada; and while we’ve made progress in the last six years, we still have a long way to go until we fully recover. I applaud the President for using his authority to advance the housing recovery. His actions will help homeowners stay in their homes and enable millions of families to purchase a home for the first time,” said Titus.
