Las Vegas, NV – Congresswoman Dina Titus of Nevada’s First District released the following statement in recognition of Independence Day, observed on Saturday, July 4:

“Today we celebrate the 239^th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence which enumerates the democratic principles on which our nation was founded. It is a day to reflect on our country’s unique history and the enduring spirit of freedom, equality, and justice that continues to guide us today.

“As Nevadans gather with family, friends, and neighbors to celebrate the Fourth of July, let us take time to honor the brave servicemen and women who have fought so hard to defend this spirit and this country we hold so dear.
