Las Vegas, NV - Congresswoman Dina Titus of Nevada’s First District announced that the Department of Education will award $200,000 to Nevada P.E.P., Inc’s parent training and information program for the first year of a five year grant. The program is designed for parents of children with disabilities to educate them on the services available under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act, enhance understanding of their children’s educational and developmental needs, and help them better communicate with personnel responsible for providing special education, early intervention, and related services to meet the unique needs of Nevada’s children and youth with disabilities.

“By strengthening parents’ understanding of their child’s unique needs and increasing their capacity to meet those needs, Nevada P.E.P., Inc empowers families with the information, training, and tools to best support their children,” said Titus. “I commend Nevada P.E.P., Inc for its commitment to Nevada children with disabilities and their families, and am pleased to announce today’s grant award to further support their critical work.”
