The spending package, H.R. 7617, is the second set of FY 2021 appropriations bills that the House has considered this year and it includes six spending bills: Defense, Commerce-Justice-Science, Energy and Water Development, Financial Service and General Government, Labor-HHS-Education, and Transportation-Housing and Urban Development. “After trying to shove nuclear waste down Nevada’s throat for three years in a row, President Trump backed down from the fight,” said Congresswoman Titus (NV-1). “I will continue to work with my colleagues in House leadership and the Nevada delegation to prevent our state from becoming the dumping ground for the nation’s nuclear and toxic waste. “Today the House of Representatives voted to prevent the President from needlessly conducting an explosive nuclear weapons test. I did not introduce this ban lightly, but it was necessary to prevent President Trump from recklessly threatening Nevadans’ health and potentially restarting a global arms race. “This spending package includes many important provisions to protect public health and help bring about our nation’s economic recovery.
