Today Representative Dina Titus of Nevada’s First Congressional District announced that the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has granted $7.5 million to McCarran International Airport. The funding will be used to renovate over 55,000 square yards of apron pavement at the airport where airplanes park, board, and refuel.

Congresswoman Titus, who sits on the Transportation and Infrastructure Aviation Subcommittee, voted to pass the reauthorization of the Federal Aviation Administration which included $3.35 billion dollars for the Airport Improvement Program (AIP) over five years. This program provides grants to airports for airport safety, capacity, security and environmental projects.

“McCarran International Airport is essential to our local economy and this funding will help ensure the dependability of our airport for years to come,” said Congresswoman Titus (NV-1). “As a senior member of the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, I will continue to prioritize safe and easy travel for Las Vegas residents and visitors.”
