The Republican plan to destroy the Affordable Care Act will leave 52 million Americans uninsured by 2026, according to the Congressional Budget Office. Today Rep. Dina Titus of Nevada’s First Congressional District issued the following statement on the report from the Congressional Budget Office and Joint Committee on Taxation detailing the consequences of the GOP’s plan to dismantle the Affordable Care Act. "The Congressional Budget Office (CBO) and Joint Committee on Taxation (JCT) released their estimate of the Republicans' American Health Care Act. The plan will strip coverage for current Medicaid recipients and small business employees, and leave 52 million Americans uninsured by 2026. This contemptible plan completely undoes the progress made by the Affordable Care Act and leaves the most vulnerable Americans, especially seniors, uncovered and unable to afford quality health care. Meanwhile the wealthiest Americans will benefit from a trillion dollar tax cut. It's not repeal and replace; it's destroy and deceive." |
