Titus Statement on National School Walkout

March 14, 2018
Rep. Titus rallied in DC to demand commonsense measures to prevent gun violence.

March 14, 2018

Today Rep. Dina Titus of Nevada’s First Congressional District released the following statement on the National School Walkout.

“Today at the Capitol, I rallied in solidarity with the students, victims, and advocates from across the nation who all mobilized to send a message: We will not be ignored. In ten days, we will do it again during the March for Our Lives, and we will continue for as long as necessary. The young people walking out of their classrooms today demonstrate that inaction is not an option and callousness is not acceptable. As a former professor, I believe that we need fewer guns in classrooms and more measures to keep firearms out of dangerous hands. As a Las Vegan, I believe that we must do all we can to prevent tragedies at concert venues, schools, churches, and the countless locations where lives were prematurely taken because of senseless gun violence. When will Republicans say enough is enough?”
