This is an arbitrary and capricious decision that will hurt families and our economy. March 7, 2018 Today Rep. Dina Titus of Nevada’s First Congressional District released the following statement on President Trump’s arbitrary and capricious March 5th DACA deadline. “Today is a disappointment for our nation and another Trump Administration transgression. While the courts have prevented the worst from happening, we know that in the coming months thousands of DACA recipients will be at risk while they wait for renewals and potentially lose work authorizations. Congressional action is the only fix for the 800,000 young dreamers who call this country home. We cannot fail the students, entrepreneurs, doctors, teachers, lawyers, and taxpayers who make our communities and country better places. These folks are not bargaining chips or political pawns. They are human beings who deserve to be treated with dignity – not pariahs forced to live in the shadows.” |
