Today Representative Dina Titus of Nevada’s First Congressional District released the following statement in response to the announcement that House Appropriations Chairwoman Nita Lowey will not seek re-election:

“Chairwoman Lowey has spent her career in public service making life better for future generations and for those in need,” said Congresswoman Titus (NV-1). “Her historic tenure includes aiding 9/11 survivors and first responders, increasing access to high quality health care and education, and strengthening the bond between the U.S. and Israel. I am especially grateful to Chairwoman Lowey for her leadership in blocking the dangerous efforts to revitalize Yucca Mountain – and I look forward to working with her eventual successor to do the same.”
