Today Congresswoman Dina Titus announced the investment of $1.8 million to help small businesses in six communities throughout the West. September 22, 2014 Las Vegas, NV – Today Congresswoman Dina Titus announced the investment of $1.8 million to help small businesses in six communities throughout the West. The U.S. Economic Development Administration, through a partnership with Operation Hope, will provide introductory small business workshops, entrepreneurial courses, and individualized technical assistance in targeted low income communities, including West Las Vegas. The program will assist emerging small businesses through access to capital and other financial services to help them expand and prosper. “District One is home to a variety of small businesses, well established stores that have been in families for generations, and new emerging ventures,” said Congresswoman Dina Titus. “Through this targeted public – private partnership, small businesses in our community will have access to the tools and resources they need to expand and thrive. Small businesses are critical to Southern Nevada’s continued economic recovery, and this partnership will help more entrepreneurs in Las Vegas start their own small business and create jobs. |
