LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — Congresswoman Dina Titus sat with a group of local business leaders in Downtown Las Vegas on Friday. She met with the group at the Las Vegas Chamber’s annual “Eggs and Issues” breakfast.

The congresswoman covering a wide range of topics, speaking out on a number of Nevada issues that she’s taking to the national stage.

The event is designed to connect members of the community with federal policymakers over coffee, bacon waffles and, of course, eggs. Held this year at the Golden Nugget, locals are given the one-on-one opportunity to talk to and ask questions of our elected officials--zeroing in on the issues that impact us here in Southern Nevada.

From immigration to the nationwide legalization of sports betting and marijuana, Congresswoman Titus covered a wide range of issues she’s currently working, including the fight over the storage of nuclear waste at Yucca Mountain.

“Nevada doesn’t make it, we don’t use it. We don’t want it. We shouldn’t have to store it. Let’s let other people who might want it be part of that process,” said the Congresswoman. “Not just screw Nevada."

The goal of these breakfasts is to give locals a better understanding of how federal-level issues can make changes within the business community and the health of the economy in Nevada.
