Governor Steve Sisolak has appointed Michael Naft, a longtime aide to Rep. Dina Titus, to fill out the rest of his term on the Clark County Commission. Sisolak announced the appointment Tuesday, a day after he was inaugurated and formally resigned his commission role. Naft’s new district includes the southwest portion of the Las Vegas Valley, as well as the Henderson area, Searchlight and parts of Primm and Jean; Naft’s term ends in 2020. “Michael has incredible record of public service and dedication to Southern Nevada and will be a committed representative for Clark County families,” Sisolak said. “I also want to thank Congresswoman Dina Titus for parting with such an incredible member of her team. Her office’s loss is Clark County’s gain and I know I am leaving my old seat in the most capable hands.” Sisolak and Titus are longtime friends, and Titus was one of his earliest and most outspoken surrogates on the campaign. Naft has worked for Titus for six years, according to his LinkedIn profile. |
