Last week an Inspector General report that found the General Services Administration “ignored the Constitution” and refused to analyze whether allowing Donald Trump to profit while president from government property was a violation of the Emoluments Clause.
This week House members with oversight of the GSA are demanding answers.

Rep. Peter DeFazio (D-OR), chairman of the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committe, and Nevada Rep. Dina Titus, ranking member of a subcommittee which oversees GSA, are giving GSA Administrator Emily Murphy until Feb. 8 to answer questions or be hauled before the committee to testify under oath.

In a Jan. 22 letter to Murphy, DeFazio and Titus criticize “your agency’s repeated refusal to provide documents” about Trump “serving as both a landlord and tenant” of the Old Post Office which Trump leases from the federal government for his hotel.

DeFazio and Titus are demanding correspondence between the GSA and Trump, as well as Ivanka Trump, Donald Trump, Jr., and Eric Trump. The members are also seeking hotel financial records, among other information.
