Washington, D.C. – Today Representative Dina Titus of Nevada’s First Congressional District, who voted to impeach President Trump in December of 2019, released the following statement after voting to impeach President Trump again:

“On January 6th, a violent mob of domestic terrorists breached the U.S. Capitol in an attempt to disrupt the peaceful transfer of power,” said Congresswoman Titus (NV-1). “These criminals proudly declared that they were following the orders of President Donald Trump.

“Even as these insurrectionists – armed with weapons and bullet-proof vests – posed a serious threat to human life, President Trump for hours refused to call off the mob or send in reinforcements. Instead, he continued to publicly call for overturning the results of the 2020 election and told the domestic terrorists that they were ‘very special’ and that he loved them.

“President Trump incited an attack on the U.S. Capitol building, the people who work there, Vice President Pence, and the United States of America. The case for impeachment is overwhelming.

“For over three decades, I taught U.S. history as a professor of government and politics. There has never been a president who is so unfit to serve. I voted to impeach President Trump because he is a clear and present danger to this country.”
