Representative Dina Titus of Nevada’s First Congressional District released the following statement after being re-elected as Chair of the Subcommittee on Economic Development, Public Buildings, and Emergency Management January 26, 2021 Washington, D.C. – Today Representative Dina Titus of Nevada’s First Congressional District released the following statement after being re-elected as Chair of the Subcommittee on Economic Development, Public Buildings, and Emergency Management: “I am grateful that my colleagues continue to place their trust in me to lead this subcommittee with authority over issues of great importance for Nevada and the nation,” said Congresswoman Titus (NV-1). “The Economic Development Administration will play a key role in helping hard-hit communities recover from the pandemic and I will continue to push my bill to allow the EDA to promote travel and tourism when and where it is safe to do so. Additionally, I look forward to working with my colleagues on the subcommittee to ensure that our nation is better prepared to respond to natural disasters, address the devastating impacts of climate change, and carry out oversight of FEMA’s role in providing COVID-19 tests and vaccinations. I am grateful for the opportunity to assist Chairman DeFazio, Secretary-designate Buttigieg, and President Biden in the effort to craft legislation that will create good-paying jobs by making smart and sustainable investments in our infrastructure. Southern Nevada will have a seat at the table in this conversation.” |
