Washington, D.C. - Today Representative Dina Titus of Nevada’s First Congressional District, a member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, issued the following statement in response to President Joe Biden’s announcement on Afghanistan. 

“In the twenty years since September 11th, our armed forces have displayed persistent courage and sacrifice as they’ve worked to protect the Afghan people and keep our country safe from threats abroad. Our military has accomplished their mission; now it’s time to bring these servicemembers home and I applaud the President’s resolve,” said Congresswoman Dina Titus (NV-1). “Diplomacy will still be required in the years ahead, but it’s crucial we protect the freedoms the Afghan people have won over the past two decades – in particular for women and girls - and continue to support our allies. I will continue to work with the Biden Administration to protect America’s security interests while meeting our commitment to bring our troops home to their families.”
