Las Vegas, NV - Congresswoman Dina Titus of Nevada's First Congressional District today announced district director Terry Care will retire after serving Las Vegas’ community for more than 20 years as an elected official and staff with Congresswoman Titus’s office. “I greatly appreciate the work Terry has done on behalf of District 1. Terry has been a close friend since our time in the state legislature and his strong standing in the community has been an asset to our office. My congressional district has been fortunate to have him as district director,” said Congresswoman Titus. “As well, Terry has done a terrific job building and training a team ready to step into his shoes without missing a beat.” “It’s been an honor to serve the Congresswoman and Las Vegas families,” said Terry Care. “I’m pleased to know I am leaving the district in good hands. As far as what’s next for me, I plan to try retirement for the fourth time,” added Care, a former state senator and military retiree. Representative Titus also announced the promotion of Ana Quintanilla from Deputy District Director to District Director. Ana began as a staff assistant in the Congresswoman’s office in 2015. “I’m excited to welcome Ana as our new District Director,” said Congresswoman Titus. “Ana brings both professionalism and a passion for assisting constituents to this position. She is well known and highly respected throughout District One.” “I am honored to take on this new role which provides me the opportunity to continue serving the diverse community I was brought up in,” said Ana Quintanilla, a Las Vegas native and proud first-generation daughter of Salvadoran and Mexican immigrants. “The last year has brought unprecedented challenges for families in Las Vegas and our office will always be a resource to help smooth the road ahead.” As District Director, Ana will continue to lead the Las Vegas District Office in serving its wide array of community advocates, veterans, businesses, and nonprofits. Ana has worked with Congresswoman Dina Titus since 2015. In her role as the Latino Outreach and Senior Immigration Liaison, her expertise has helped hundreds of constituents connect to government agencies and navigate a complex immigration system. In addition to spearheading media efforts in both English and Spanish, she also planned and led outreach efforts, such as the annual Immigration Fraud Prevention Fair to connect the Latino and immigrant communities with critical resources. In 2019, she took on the additional role of Director of Constituent Services where under her leadership the office streamlined work with federal agencies to save and return money to constituents of District 1, including veterans, seniors, and those with disabilities. Additionally, throughout the pandemic she has led critical efforts to inform and assist the most vulnerable constituents in a period of intense and ongoing changes. She was raised in Las Vegas and is a graduate of Rancho High School and the University of Nevada, Reno where she received a B.A. in International Affairs in 2012. Ana is a proud first-generation Latina — her father hailed from San Salvador, El Salvador and her mother is from Sinaloa, Mexico. |
