By: Marty Irby Titus cosponsored a $3 million funding amendment that passed the U.S. House and would help provide much-needed resources for the CDC to streamline inspections and verify documentation. Many of our military heroes have been separated from their pets, and countless rescue dogs remain in limbo around the globe as a result of this policy, but Titus is making progress. Titus has also been a longtime leader of the Opportunities for Fairness in Farming (OFF) Act designed to create transparency and accountability in the USDA’s Commodity Checkoff Programs and prevent the misuse of tax dollars for lobbying against pro-animal and sustainable agriculture policies. She introduced the bill in bipartisan fashion in July with Rep. Nancy Mace, R-S.C. Titus is the leader of the PREPARED Act aimed at helping pets in times of natural disaster, and she joined in leading an anti-horse slaughter transportation amendment to the INVEST Act in June. And Titus is a cosponsor of the Big Cat Public Safety Act, the SAFE Act, the Shark Fin Sales Elimination Act, the Animal Cruelty Enforcement Act, and countless other pro-animal bills in Congress. The good people of Las Vegas are fortunate to have Titus representing them in Washington, D.C., and we applaud her continued work to protect animals.
