Titus Statement on Colorado River Lower Basin States Announcement

Washington, DC – Congresswoman Dina Titus, a founding member of the bipartisan Colorado River Caucus, issued the following statement after the Lower Colorado River Basin States announced a framework for an agreement that would conserve water in Lake Mead until 2026:

“Given the Colorado River Basin’s rapidly changing water levels, all Basin states face a pressing need to work together to establish a path forward for water users in the region. Now that Nevada, Arizona, and California have reached an agreement on a framework for water usage in the Lower Basin until 2026, I look forward to reviewing details once they are fully negotiated. Nevada has been leading the way on water conservation, and should not bear the brunt of disproportionate decreases in allocation. All seven states must come to a fair-share agreement that meets the severity of this ongoing crisis.”
