Southern Nevada Law Enforcement and Clark County District Attorney Awarded Millions in Funding at Titus’ Request

Las Vegas, NV – Today Congresswoman Dina Titus (D-NV) celebrated the U.S. Department of Justice’s announcement that more than $3.5 million in funding she requested for Henderson law enforcement and the Clark County District Attorney has been awarded. Rep. Titus made the Community Project Funding requests for fiscal year 2023.

These projects will award more than $2 million to the City of Henderson to expand the Eldorado Valley Regional Public Safety Training Facility, and more than $1.5 million to the Clark County District Attorney’s office for case management system upgrades.

“I’m grateful that the millions in funding I secured last Congress for law enforcement are on their way to Southern Nevada,” said Rep. Titus. “I fought for these funds to benefit my constituents in Boulder City, Henderson, and across Clark County. The projects supported the concerns our law enforcement leadership raised with me. They’ll be able to better process cases and train their officers thanks to this funding.”

Background:

In December 2022 Congress passed the fiscal year 2023 funding package which included $18 million secured by Rep. Titus to create jobs, improve pedestrian safety, enhance Las Vegas’s water resources, support the mental health needs of sex trafficking victims, and provide financial support, resources, and information for Southern Nevada’s non-English proficient community.

Today’s announcement from the Department of Justice includes funding for the following projects:

$1,576,000 for the Clark County District Attorney’s (DA) Case Management System. This funding will support a new case management system for the County DA’s Juvenile and Civil Divisions. This updated system will provide centralized storage of case-related information, critical cyber support, and transparency tools for the community.

$2,049,000 for the Expansion of the Eldorado Valley Regional Public Safety Training Facility. This funding will support the expansion of the multi-jurisdictional police, firefighter, emergency medical response, and tactical team training facility in Henderson. Specifically, this project will support the training operations of both the Henderson and Boulder City Police Departments and assist them in expanding their training facilities through the purchase of simulators and computer equipment.
