Las Vegas, NV – Today Congresswoman Dina Titus (NV-01), released a statement following reports of an active shooter at UNLV.
 
“My staff and I are closely monitoring the situation at UNLV as it unfolds and are in constant communication with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police regarding how we can be of assistance. As a professor emeritus at the University, my heart is with all the students, faculty, and staff who had to evacuate to safety today and those who were victims of this attack.
 
“Tragically, Las Vegas is already familiar with the devastating impact of gun violence following the 2017 mass shooting which also occurred in Nevada’s First District.
 
“This epidemic is a national emergency that requires action. Enough is enough and we need to come together to immediately pass common-sense-gun violence prevention legislation so that we do not hand down this public health crisis to yet another generation.”
