WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today Congresswoman Dina Titus (NV-01), senior member of the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee and founding member of the bipartisan Colorado River Caucus, announced $44.1 million of Bipartisan Infrastructure Law funding for water infrastructure projects in Nevada.
“The Bipartisan Infrastructure Law which I championed continues to deliver,” said Rep. Dina Titus. “I'm proud to secure this funding for drinking water, wastewater, and storm water infrastructure upgrades which will improve public health and quality of life for all Nevadans. These drinking water and clean water investments will protect our state’s water resources and transform communities for the better.” Background Vice President Kamala Harris and U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Administrator Michael S. Regan announced over $5.8 billion from President Biden’s Investing in America agenda for states, Tribes, and territories to invest in drinking water and clean water infrastructure upgrades. The funding is part of the over $50 billion investment in water infrastructure upgrades from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law which Congresswoman Titus championed, the largest such investment in American history. These funds will support essential water infrastructure that protects public health and water bodies across the entire United States, including Nevada. Almost half of this funding will be available as grants or principal forgiveness loans, ensuring funds reach underserved communities most in need of investments in water infrastructure. The preliminary funding estimates to Nevada are as follows: • General Supplemental Drinking Water State Revolving Funds (DWSRF): $23.8 million • Emerging Contaminants DWSRF: $7.9 million • General Supplemental Clean Water State Revolving Funds (CWSRF): $11.3 million • Emerging Contaminants CWSRF: $1.1 million • Total: $44.1 million As a member of the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, Congresswoman Titus has proudly secured millions of dollars for Nevada through the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law. |
