Rep. Titus Announces over $4.5 Million for Sunrise Children’s Foundation

Funding will be used for Head Start Projects at the Sunrise Children's Foundation.

Las Vegas, NV – Today Congresswoman Dina Titus (NV-01) announced over $4.5 million for the Sunrise Children’s Foundation for Head Start Projects. This funding comes from the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services (HHS). Rep. Titus championed robust funding for the Head Start program at HHS during the Fiscal Year 2024 appropriations process.
Las Vegas, NV – Today Congresswoman Dina Titus (NV-01) announced over $4.5 million for the Sunrise Children’s Foundation for Head Start Projects. This funding comes from the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services (HHS). Rep. Titus championed robust funding for the Head Start program at HHS during the Fiscal Year 2024 appropriations process. 

“Every child deserves comprehensive care and support to prepare them for success regardless of the situation they were born into,” said Rep. Dina Titus. “This grant will provide nutrition assistance, family support programs, and other childcare services for at-risk and low-income communities in Southern Nevada. I am committed to breaking the cycle of poverty by creating opportunities for children to get ahead.”

Background
Sunrise Children’s Foundation in Las Vegas works to provide education, nutrition, and family support services to promote child development in Clark County communities. These efforts create roughly 130 jobs and reach more than 150,000 children and families each year. More information about the foundation can be found here

HHS’ Office of Head Start (OHS), within the Administration of Children and Families of the Department of Health and Human Services, offers grants to public and private agencies on a competitive basis, and supports children's growth from birth to age 5 through services that support early learning and development, health, and family well-being. Grant recipients provide services to every U.S. state and territory and in more than 155 tribal communities.

The total grant awarded by HHS to the Sunrise Children’s Foundation is $4,565,096.
