“Thanks to funding I secured in the House appropriations process, the City of Henderson’s Health and Wellness Center will be able to expand mental health services for the City’s law enforcement community,” said Rep. Dina Titus. “This center is an important resource for hardworking public servants which will establish a positive framework to treat trauma, anxiety, depression, and thoughts of suicide.”

“The Employee Health and Wellness Center allows our team to get the wellness and mental health services and resources they need, all in one place and within our community. Beyond the convenience of medical exams and the specialized cardiac and lung testing required of our first responders, the mental health and wellness programming is especially critical for our public safety professionals. The mental and physical well-being of all our professional staff and sworn officers is of the utmost importance not only to our department but to the community. I appreciate the support of Congresswoman Titus, as this investment will help us better serve the needs of our first responders and ultimately enhance our service to the community,” said City of Henderson Police Chief Hollie Chadwick.

On March 6, 2024, Rep. Titus voted for the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2024 which included $782,000 in community project funding she secured for the City of Henderson’s Mental Health and Wellness Program.
Through the funding Rep. Titus championed, the City of Henderson will be able to implement a comprehensive Mental Health and Wellness program for law enforcement officers and police employees experiencing PTSD, depression, anxiety, and other mental health disorders.
These funds will create expand services for law enforcement officers and police employees who experience trauma in the line of duty through proactive interventions, including confidential services from mental health clinicians, peer support programs, and 24/7 wellness access at home.
