Congresswoman Dina Titus Statement on the Continuing Resolution

Washington, December 20, 2024 | Dick Cooper (202-734-0020)

“I supported the Continuing Resolution because it funds important services for Nevadans without interruption. Social Security and Medicare recipients will receive their benefit checks on time and veterans will continue to get the services they need. Our tourism-based economy will not be hurt by disruptions in air travel and security screenings.

“This resolution addresses other immediate needs of Americans and Nevadans. It allocates aid for communities affected by natural disasters, including $70 million for Nevada. As ranking member on the subcommittee overseeing FEMA, I worked hard to get relief for the thousands of families impacted by these disasters. The resolution also protects Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits for nearly 53,000 households in District 1 and it helps working families in Southern Nevada by extending child care services. Moreover it is also important to note what is not in the bill: pay raises for members of Congress and tax cuts for billionaires.

“This resolution lasts until March 14. Meanwhile I’ll continue fighting for long term solutions that protect Nevadans’ interests.”
