The Graham-Cassidy-Heller legislation will wreak havoc on Nevada families.

Las Vegas – Today, Rep. Dina Titus of Nevada’s First Congressional District highlighted a new report that shows how the radical Graham-Cassidy-Heller version of Trumpcare will eliminate coverage for nearly a quarter million Nevadans and 32 million nationwide by 2027.

The Center for American Progress estimates that 243,000 Nevadans will lose coverage under the proposal that’s likely to get a vote next week in the U.S. Senate without having a Congressional Budget Office score or significant public input. There have been no debates, no hearings, and no contributions from Democrats on the legislation which will eliminate Medicaid expansion, increase premiums, end protections for Americans with pre-existing conditions, and cut ACA subsidies.

“The Republicans do not want bipartisan participation or public input from experts and working families because they know what the majority of people will tell them: This callous legislation will wreak havoc on Nevada families and the nation in order to give a tax cut to the wealthy. I am a co-sponsor of ‘Medicare for All’ legislation and other provisions to help improve our nation’s insurance market because I recognize that the ACA, a law that has cut Nevada’s uninsured rate in half, is not perfect. It is time Republicans end their ACA crusade, work to find compromise, and realize that Trumpcare is like Trump University: a scam.”
